Thai TESOL Conference 2008
Welcome to Thailand TESOL International Conference
24-26 January 2008
The Hotel Sofitel Raja Orchid, Khon Kaen
Ha ha ha!! Feel like an aristocracy to join an international conference. Ha ha ha!!
( ar· is· toc· racy people born in the highest social class, who have special titles
SYN nobility:
members of the aristocracy
== From Oxford Advanced Learners Dictionary International Students Edition==
I think aristocratic must come from Aristotle + crazy, which means someone who is crazy for Aristotle!!!
Seriously, in the past people who admired Aristotle were the noble or the upper class people. I think that is how this word is constructed. Ha ha ha!!! What do you think?)
This is the first international conference in my life.
So, for those of you who didnt have to chance to join it, dont be sad Ill take you through the conference. Actually. Just try to imagine that youre on a tour bus and Im a driver taking you there sorry for those of you who dont want to put my pretty face on your mind. It wont take long and I promise I wont be in your dream tonight. Im busy with my 2,000 words literature review homework, 800 words essay on English teaching and learning problems in Thailand, the conference summary essay, and I have to prepare for the sociodrama on the topic "power plant" and "modeling" . What a busy girl!!!! Ha ha ha!!!
Alright, lets start withhmm. Some stuff that I got after I paid 2.6 K. I got a bag . . .
Inside the bag, there are lots and lots of the ad. Also Ive got the hmm handbook? Booklet? I dont know what is it called.. my English is poor~~~

Anyway, what I like most about this package is a notebook! Dont you ever attend a conference without a notebook!! It really helped when you got bored you can draw a picture!!! Ha ha ha .. Just kidding!!
Besides, the free package, I got a name card! Have a look! Its the evidence to prove that I was really there at the conference.

Now, lets move on to the conference room its a huge room but there were more small rooms as well.
So, to be able to join any the sessions, you really need a schedule! Mine one is something that looks like what you see in the picture! Colorful, isnt it? Ha ha ha!!
Before the conference was over, there was a kind of. Hmm.. what is it?? Ok, lets me explain. We, every participant, put our name cards in the box and the someone ah.. I think shes the madam president of the Thai TESOL picked up a card, then that person would get a present! You know what I mean, dont u?
And the marvelous 7th edition Oxford dictionary goes to...
ME!
Hoorey~~~~~~~~
I'm the (single) Queen of the World!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hoo hoo hoo!!!

Thank you very one for the loud applause even though its not for me I took it as mine.. ha ha ha!!!!!

And thats the end of the story...
What?
Dont blame that I didnt tell you anything about the conference. Ive told you that Ill take you there as a driver, I didnt say I will be a tour guide. I didnt tell you that I would tell you what were presented at the conference. Ha ha ha!!!
Anyway, as a generous pretty lady, Im gonna tell you a bit about this conference.
1. Food (Thai food) at the hotel is never ever as good as your local restaurant. It was h-o-r-r-i-b-l-e actually especially Kang-Som. I wondered if they just throw rotten veggies in the water.
2. For the no.1 hotel in town (or maybe in top 10 in NE), the electricity could go of twice its normal.
3. When the alarm rang, it didnt always mean fire. Maybe someone just wanna test it.
4. If you are a speaker, be prepared for the technical disaster such as computer, microphone, speakers and visualizer dont work. (ah dont forget electricity went off)
5. Some sessions could be canceled without any announcement. If youre lucky enough, you would be able to join the other session on time. If not, you would waste your life for nothing! (also your money)
6. As soon as the people get in the conference room, cell phones start ringing and will never ever stop!!!!!
7. Moreover. The click, chik, tid or whatever noises from the camera will be with you the whole session. Its soooooooo annoying!!!!!! I wondered if these people came just to take a photo. I was about to pass them a note asking them to leave the room, then I realized that Im too pretty to do that!! Ha ha ha!!!!!!
What? Its not what you want to know? Ok, I give you some URL, and then you can have a look

Thats all I have to plan to talk today, thank you very much for your attention. If you have any questions, I will be more than happy to answer them!!! Ha ha ha!!! Thanks to Aj. Karl to push this phrase to my life!!! Ha ha ha!!!
Thanks to whoever brought the conference to Khon Kaen.
Thanks to Oxford publisher to support the program (and gave the dictionary to me!! Very impressive!!!!)
Thanks to madam president to pick up my name from the box!
Thanks to P hmm.. (I dont know her name actually, shes from my dept.) to encourage me to put my name in the box!! Without you, I wouldnt have had this book!!! Ah.. I promise, I will try to find out who you are!!
Finally, thanks to my department to pay me there (It would be a lot better if you support the entire fee for 3 days)
Now I have a clear answer for why Thai people cant speak English.
Thai teachers would KILL them if they dont use a super doper perfect grammatical sentence!!!! This is Thailand~
Give someone a fish and you feed him for a day
Teach someone to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.
(sorry, i dont know whose quote it is. Hopefully, Aj.John wont visit this page and take points from my homework for omitting the citation)
